An imaginative music video inviting dancers to embody the stars they are, sparkles and all
For this music video, we invited members of the Austin ecstatic dance community to embody a star, for the Cosmic Butterflies song called “Dancing Constellation.” To be a “star on earth” generally means to be an exceptionally talented and gifted individual in a particular field or area. A star is someone with the ability to inspire and influence others with their achievements, skills, and talents. A star is someone who makes a significant contribution to society and the world at large through their positive impact on the lives of others.
In another sense, there's another meaning. A star embodiment hints at standing in sovereignty—bringing brilliance and beauty into the world. In some Native American cultures, an ancient “Star Nation” exists, with light bodies, star seeds, and other celestial beings who shine on earth in various ways, radiating divine virtues. The contemplative Dancing Constellation music video invites us to imagine what it means to be a star.
Visualizing the Music of Cosmic Butterflies
Did we really sink a guitar to the sea? Yes! We filmed the footage at the Texas Gulf Coast at Mustang Island, near Corpus Christi. We filmed the guitar at sunrise, and again at sunset. The guitar floated and swam just as we hoped, holding its shape, even after tossing in the waves and crashing into the sand. Eventually, the backside panel came apart, and then the guitar started taking on water, sinking.
This music video shares the story of a man's immersion in the outdoors, and its healing potential. In 2016, we ventured to a site in Wyoming to document the story. This was a rugged canyon landscape with a wild river, sending a loving vibration into the portal where a man lost his life in a whirlpool, 20 years prior.
The band's "In the Space" music video shares the story of a guitar that falls from the sky, like the gift of a sacred song. Did we really sink a guitar to the sea? Yes! “The Voice” is a highly artistic and exploratory song with an appropriately experimental music video. For the chorus, we visualize an ancient Sanskrit mantra: “Om-mani-padme-hum,” with infinite interpretations, such as: Behold, the jewel in the lotus; and “Karuna-hum” means: Compassion is my nature. These words reinforce the reverent nature of this song, presenting a message that resonates on a heart level.
"Heavily" is a medicine song, supporting people on their healing journeys. It is influenced by Pachelbel's "Canon in D," with its soul soothing chord progression. The music video features memorable scenes in parenting, from the Wild Family documentary film.

Prior to launching the “Colors Flying” music video, we created a lyric video, intending to emphasize the message and meaning behind the song. With attractive typography, subtle color waves, and captivating textures, this video paints the music with high energy. This type of music video is trending on YouTube.
This animated music video visualizes a song about being an artist, following a passion. Only in the animation art form can we achieve such a dazzling display of artistry and style. This video brings us all the way up from mountain scene to the heavenly heights, complete with birds, butterflies, and angels galore—glorious angels! “Colors Flying” is a song by Cosmic Butterflies.
This stylized animated music video emphasizes the raw, natural, human touch of this all-acoustic song. “Brave Spirit” is Cosmic Butterflies' #1 single. This video displays hand-drawn illustrations and vibrant watercolor splashes. True to the band’s message, this distinct art direction allows the story to come through in a way that is relatable to all people, making it as modern as it is timeless.
